Application virtualization is an umbrella term that describes software technologies that improve portability, manageability and compatibility of applications through encapsulating them from the underlying operating system on which they are executed.

A fully virtualized application is not installed in the traditional sense, although it is still executed in the same manor. The application is tricked at runtime into believing that it is directly interfacing with the original operating system and all the resources managed by the OS when in reality it is not. Application virtualization differs from operating system virtualization in which the whole operating system is virtualized rather than only specific applications.

  This award-winning product providing an application virtualization solution for enterprises to deliver applications through a unique “Infrastructure Free” approach. AOD or “Application on Demand” files are created using the unique Encapsulator which runs its own virtual OS therefore a vanilla or clean OS is not required prior to creating each virtual application. The created AOD files are then run using a bridge on the guest operating system and applications are delivered to the users by AD group membership making application rollouts, updates and importantly roll back of unsuccessful applications or updates very straightforward. The applications can be run from a network share, streamed down to the user or downloaded for offline use and because they are not EXE files this makes application licensing greatly simplified.
